Shooting For The Silver Screen: Photoshoot With James Anderson

I met James by chance, it turned out he was an actor in the middle of working on his new website and needed some photos to add some impact. We organised a date and James organised a hair cut and some cool threads.

Obviously from my previous body of work I haven't had the chance to shoot many male subjects as yet but have been wanting to for a while. It offers different challenges in terms how you pose and present the subject. Anyway let me know how you think I did, I'm quite happy with the results and so was James.

50's Chic, Thalia @ Parramatta Park

So every now and then I like to step outside my comfort zone in order to push the bounderies and try and grow a little more. The Pin Up style has always been something I've been interested in shooting. It represents a good mixture of feminity and strength and I love the sassyness that is so playful about the genre.

To walk me through my first pin-up shoot was the ever wonderful Thalia, model and make up artist extraordinaire! The shoot was definitely a great deal of fun and Thalia was very happy with the images so you can call that a success I guess... as always I hope I've created something you enjoy. Stay tuned for more to come

Seascapes: Whale Beach... Home & Away, Closer That Day...

For something a little different, so we took a drive up to Whale Beach. It is just a bit shy of Palm Beach, which is famous for being the location for where they film Home and Away, that loveable Australian drama *cough*

Whale Beach is a nice location, fairly secluded with a lot of interesting rock features, with a good amount of sea grass to throw a different colour into the usual mix. I'm looking to get some Neutral Density Filters and a shutter release to be able to get more out of the shoots. Anyway as always I hope you enjoy and have a great Sunday.

Seascape: Maroubra Beach

This time around it was Maroubra for our sun rise shoot. The location offers some great rock features as well as a a rock pool for an added point of interest. The sea was crazy that morning and many of us all most got drenched on several occasions... or was that just me? Anyway enjoy =)

The Ice Queen Hath Comethhhhhh ethhhhhh methhhhhh...! BRRRR Its Cold In Here!

April came up with this conceptt and asked me if I could help out with its execution. An idea I think she would later regret when she made the decision to opt for real ice rather than fake ice. I went fairly wild with the post processing in this to give it a more icy feel but I think the natural one holds its own, let me know what you think. The things you have to put up with for a shot, she's happy with it though so I guess what more could you ask for. Hope you like this relatively concise blog post... I have a back log of seascapes and my first Pin-Up Styled shoot to come. Stay posted...

Getting A Little Misty Eyed: Anne-Marie & Nathan's Wedding

My last wedding for 2010 was shared with Anne-Marie and Nathan. Two of the most down to Earth and friendly people you can meet. Even to someone they barely knew, like me, they went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying myself throughout the day, kept well hydrated and well fed. This speaks volumes about the kind of people they are and was unmistakeably the reason why they had so many friends to share their special day with.

The male half of the bridal party who I spent most of the day with were definitely worth mentioning too, it was their energy that kept everyone entertained and in high spirits for the majority of the day with their antics. Just take a look at some of the pictures and you'll see what I mean, although Nathan and Anne-Marie definitely were the standouts. The day was filled with emotions, especially when Nathan delivered a very touching speech, he had the entire room in tears.

I've tried a new cross processing technique with these to create more consistency within my work. As always I hope you enjoy the series.
